In order to promote mutual understanding and desirable cooperation between civilian and military psychiatrists in the medical examina. tion for the recruits, the author introduced the details of the Regulation of Mental Exam. ination for Military Personnels and suggested desirable way of certificate writing.
The details in medical certificate such as chart number, serial numbers of medical certificate and residential certificate, correct diagnosis, onset and content of symptom, duration and method of treatment, progression of illness, psychiatrists´ opinion and various test findings including EEG and psychological test were emphasized to describe in the document for the better communication. On the other hand, sociocultural characterestics such as educational and economic backgrounds, specific family problem, ethno-medical tradition, and status of medical facility of the examinees should be taken into consideration in certificate writing and final assessment.
